SUMMARY As an Engagement Associate on the Membership Team, you will directly support corporate boards, directors, CEOs, and C‑suite leaders throughout the full membership lifecycle. This highly visible role ensures an exceptional member experience by supporting onboarding, adoption, engagement, and renewal. You will partner closely with Account Executives, Advisors, Coordinators, and cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless experience that drives account success, identifies risk, and strengthens member relationships. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Support new member onboarding by coordinating preparation, gathering essential account insights, and ensuring smooth handoffs across teams.
- Monitor member engagement and usage patterns, identifying early signs of risk and contributing to overall account health assessments.
- Coordinate planning for member calls and presentations, including scheduling, preparation, and follow‑up activities.
- Maintain consistent communication with members by sharing relevant programs, events, and updates, and by capturing key account changes.
- Contribute to growth efforts by identifying opportunities to expand member value and responding to inbound interest.
- Deliver high‑quality member support, collaborate with internal partners, and maintain thorough documentation to ensure an exceptional experience.
- Identify upsell opportunities within defined member segment across a suite of products, with specific focus on Directorship Certification sales.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - An undergraduate degree is required.
- The successful candidate will have three years of experience with a role supporting client success, account management, sales, or fundraising. Professional services experience is preferred.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with senior executives and corporate directors.
- Must be solutions-oriented, and comfortable with problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Ability to socialize NACD’s value proposition and resources.
- Experience organizing large customer/member segments to deliver value.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow-through with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
- CRM, Salesforce, or other data management experience is preferred. Public speaking experience is also a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The salary/hourly range for this position is $66,000-$70,000. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to the salary/hourly rate, this role is eligible for the potential to earn an additional $23,500 annually in performance-based bonuses, paid quarterly. Actual bonus payouts are not guaranteed and depend on individual performance, company performance and plan terms.
