We are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced, and results-driven Permanent Melt Shop Foreman to join our talented team in the Engineering industry. This critical role will oversee our melt shop operations, ensuring they run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the melt shop, from supervising staff to overseeing production processes and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with significant experience in melt shops, who is eager to take on a challenging and rewarding role in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee daily melt shop operations, ensuring all processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
2. Supervise melt shop staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback as necessary.
3. Develop and implement melt shop policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and safety.
4. Ensure all melt shop operations comply with safety and environmental regulations.
5. Conduct regular inspections of melt shop equipment, scheduling maintenance and repairs as necessary.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in a timely and effective manner.
7. Collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes.
8. Manage melt shop inventory, ensuring all necessary supplies and materials are available as needed.
9. Prepare and present regular reports on melt shop performance and productivity.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, implementing new technologies and processes as appropriate.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a melt shop or similar industrial setting.
2. Proven experience as a supervisor or manager, with strong leadership and team management skills.
3. In-depth knowledge of melt shop operations, including equipment, materials, and safety protocols.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and guide staff.
6. A commitment to safety and environmental compliance, with a thorough understanding of relevant regulations.
7. Proficiency with computer systems and software used in melt shop operations.
8. The ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
9. A degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field is preferred.
10. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in a high-temperature environment.
11. Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.
