    Summary

    The Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology & Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), in collaboration with Harris Health System, is recruiting a Medical Oncology faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. This role is focused on delivering patient centered oncology care within a large public health system serving Harris County.

    The position emphasizes high quality clinical care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and teaching within an academic safety net environment. Disease site focus may be tailored to programmatic needs, with flexibility for general oncology coverage as required by Harris Health operations.

    Job Duties

    • Provide inpatient and outpatient medical oncology care for patients treated within Harris Health facilities.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and coordinated oncology care pathways.
    • Collaborate with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and supportive services.
    • Teach and supervise residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical settings.
    • Participate in clinical documentation, billing, and compliance activities consistent with faculty standards.
    • Engage in quality improvement, clinical trials (when available), or programmatic development aligned with Harris Health oncology services.
    • Share in call coverage and service responsibilities consistent with operational needs.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • MD or MD/PhD degree.
    • Board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology (Hematology/Oncology acceptable).
    • Eligible for Texas medical licensure and DEA registration.
    • Strong commitment to patient centered care in an underserved population.
    • Experience or interest in clinical trials, population-based oncology, or safety net oncology delivery preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, team-based environment.
