Some nursing roles are about treating what happened today.
This one is about helping someone change what happens next.
Greater Seacoast Health is looking for a compassionate Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR) Nurse to work directly with patients receiving treatment for substance use disorders.
You'll be a consistent clinical connection for patients working toward recovery - coordinating treatment, helping remove barriers to care, providing follow-up when someone begins to disengage, and working alongside providers, Behavioral Health, Social Work, and Primary Care to help patients stay connected to treatment.
If you're an RN who believes great nursing means meeting people where they are, treating them with dignity, and helping them take the next step forward, we want to meet you.
What You'll Do
As our MAR Nurse, you'll serve as a primary clinical contact for patients receiving Medication Assisted Recovery treatment, including patients prescribed Suboxone, Sublocade, and Vivitrol.
You'll:
Coordinate patient screening, intake, medication induction, stabilization, and maintenance visits
Work directly with patients to identify barriers that could interfere with recovery
Help patients develop realistic treatment and self-management goals
Connect patients with healthcare resources and social services
Conduct timely outreach when patients miss appointments or become overdue for injections
Help patients stay engaged and connected to treatment
Collaborate closely with prescribing providers, residents, Behavioral Health, Social Work, and Primary Care
Support quality improvement goals within MAR and Primary Care
Provide additional nursing support as needed
This Is More Than Medication Management
Recovery isn't always a straight line.
A missed appointment may be more than a missed appointment. Transportation, housing, finances, behavioral health needs, access to services, and other challenges can all become barriers to staying in treatment.
That's where this role makes a difference.
You'll have the opportunity to build relationships with patients, understand what's getting in the way, and work with an integrated healthcare team to help them stay connected to the care and resources they need.
You Could Be a Great Fit If...
You're an RN who can combine clinical judgment with compassion.
You understand that patients experiencing substance use disorders deserve the same dignity, respect, and quality of care as every other patient.
You're comfortable building relationships while maintaining professional boundaries. You communicate clearly, follow through, stay organized, and don't give up on someone simply because their path to recovery becomes complicated.
And you enjoy working as part of a team where nursing, medical care, behavioral health, and social services come together around the patient.
What You'll Need
Required:
Current Registered Nurse license in New Hampshire
Strong computer skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of an integrated healthcare team
Compassionate and respectful approach to patients from diverse backgrounds
Preferred:
BSN
Previous experience in behavioral health
Previous experience working with substance misuse/substance use disorders
Compensation
$36.00-$44.00 per hour
Placement within the range is based on years of licensure and relevant experience.
You'll Have a Team Around You
You won't be doing this work alone.
Our MAR program brings together:
Nursing + Primary Care + Prescribing Providers + Behavioral Health + Social Work
That collaboration allows us to look beyond a diagnosis or medication and address the barriers that can affect a patient's ability to stay engaged in recovery.
