    Job Summary:

    The Medication Aide is responsible for safely administering medications and providing support to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role ensures that medication regimens are followed accurately while maintaining the highest standards of care, safety, and respect for residents.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and facility policies

    • Document medication administration, refusal, or changes accurately and timely

    • Observe residents for adverse reactions or side effects and report any concerns to the licensed nurse

    • Assist residents with daily living activities, including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition, as needed

    • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents

    • Follow infection control and safety procedures

    • Monitor and report changes in residents’ conditions to the nursing staff

    • Maintain confidentiality of all resident information

    • Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and quality assurance programs

    • Support the emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being of residents


    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED

    • Current Medication Aide Certification (CMA) as required by state regulations

    • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or required depending on the state)

    • Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting (preferred)

    • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions


    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift

    • Lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance

    • Work in various environmental conditions including exposure to bodily fluids, noise, and cleaning agents
