Description

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Technologist to support our client's healthcare facility in Needham. MA. 02494.

Job Details:

Schedule: 7 am to 3:30 pm

Location: Needham. MA. 02494

Job Type: Local contract

Contract Length: 3+ months

Pay Range: $32.00 to $36.00/hour*

  • Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Duties:

  • Perform clinical laboratory testing: Conduct chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, morphology, cytology, histology, and other laboratory tests to support the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

  • Operate and monitor laboratory equipment: Operate complex analytical instruments and laboratory devices, monitor instrument performance, verify proper functioning, and ensure accurate and timely testing of patient specimens.

  • Analyze and interpret results: Review, analyze, and correlate laboratory test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition; identify abnormal or critical findings and take appropriate action according to established procedures.

  • Maintain quality and accuracy: Perform quality control studies, calibration, verification, and other quality assurance activities to ensure laboratory results are accurate, reliable, and compliant with established standards.

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting: Complete routine preventive maintenance on assigned instruments, troubleshoot equipment and testing issues, and document repairs, replacements, calibration, maintenance, and corrective actions in appropriate logs.

  • Document and communicate results: Accurately enter and verify test results in the laboratory information system, maintain required records, communicate significant findings appropriately, and follow all laboratory safety, regulatory, and operating procedures.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemical Science, Physical Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Certification(s): Certified Medical Technologist (ASCP) - strongly preferred

  • Years of experience: 1+ years

  • Skills/Specialties/Technology:

  • Clinical laboratory testing: Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, Bacteriology, Morphology, Cytology, and Histology
