    Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Night Shift)

    Position Overview

    Seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) to join the Core Lab Services team.. In this role, you will perform routine and specialized laboratory testing under limited supervision, ensuring timely and accurate results while maintaining compliance with NYSDOH, CDC policies.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform routine, specialized, and automated laboratory tests accurately and efficiently
    • Monitor lab processes, verify results, and report abnormal/critical values promptly
    • Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instrumentation; perform preventative maintenance as required
    • Enter, verify, and retrieve results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS); manage downtime forms
    • Obtain specimens from patients (blood, urine, and other body fluids) using appropriate collection techniques
    • Train and mentor Medical Technologist (MT) and Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) students or new staff, as assigned
    • Evaluate new testing methods and implement procedures following protocols
    • Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the lab supervisor, directing daily lab activities
    • Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality policies
    Qualifications

    Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent (Grandfathered NYS Licensed CLT accepted)
    • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license
    • BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or client)
    • Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
    Preferred:
    • ASCP Specialty Certification (NY State)
    • Supervisory or charge technologist experience
