    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hematology Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in hematology testing, a commitment to quality and accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment. This individual will play a key role in performing diagnostic testing, maintaining laboratory standards, and supporting high-quality patient care.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Perform a variety of hematology laboratory tests and procedures, including complete blood counts (CBCs), differentials, coagulation testing, and peripheral smear reviews
    • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot hematology analyzers and related laboratory equipment according to established procedures
    • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results by adhering to quality control protocols, proficiency testing, and regulatory standards
    • Review and verify patient test results, identifying abnormal findings and escalating concerns when appropriate
    • Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and other regulatory and safety requirements
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining laboratory accreditation standards
    • Assist with specimen processing, data entry, and documentation as needed
    • Train and support laboratory assistants, new employees, and other staff members when required
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
    • Stay current with advancements in hematology testing methodologies, instrumentation, and laboratory best practices
    • Additional tasks may be assigned at any time by the supervisor

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field required
    • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by a recognized certifying agency required
    • 3+ years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting with specific hematology experience preferred
    • Strong knowledge of hematology testing procedures, quality control practices, and laboratory safety standards
    • Experience operating hematology analyzers and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with coworkers, physicians, and healthcare providers
    • Comfortable with potential exposure to infectious agents, biohazardous materials, and chemicals
    • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs
    • Commitment to quality, patient safety, and confidentiality
