Advance Your Career in Laboratory Medicine

Join our team as a Medical Technologist in Hematology, where your expertise plays a critical role in accurate diagnoses and patient care. In this position, you'll perform a wide range of routine and complex laboratory tests, helping physicians make timely and informed treatment decisions.

You'll work in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical laboratory, utilizing advanced instrumentation and applying strong analytical skills to deliver high-quality results.

What You'll Do

  • Perform routine and specialized diagnostic testing in hematology and related laboratory areas
  • Analyze blood, body fluid, and environmental specimens with precision and accuracy
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated and manual laboratory instrumentation
  • Process specimens and ensure proper handling, labeling, and documentation
  • Report test results to appropriate clinical staff in a timely manner
  • Follow laboratory protocols, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with venipuncture and specimen collection as needed
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve testing issues and ensure result integrity
  • Collaborate with physicians, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain compliance with safety, confidentiality, and quality standards

What You Bring

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological, Chemical, Clinical, or Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required
  • OR previously qualified as a technologist under March 14, 1990 regulations (Medicare/CLIA '67) on or before February 28, 1992
  • In lieu of education, must be ASCP certified

Required Experience

  • Minimum one year of laboratory experience, including hematology
  • New graduates from an accredited Medical Technology program are considered to meet experience requirements

Licensure & Certification

  • ASCP certification preferred

  • Strong knowledge of hematology principles, laboratory methods, and analytical techniques
  • Experience with automated and manual laboratory equipment
  • Solid understanding of quality control and laboratory best practices
  • Manual dexterity for specimen handling, venipuncture, and equipment calibration
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in complex or variable situations
  • Ability to interpret written, verbal, and technical instructions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills in a clinical environment
  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Effective communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
