Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory General Supervisor to oversee high-complexity clinical testing and daily bench operations. This role is responsible for ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple laboratory disciplines—including General Laboratory, Blood Bank, and Microbiology. The ideal candidate will combine proven supervisory capabilities with hands-on diagnostic expertise, maintaining strict quality control and laboratory safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily laboratory operations, personnel workflows, and high-complexity diagnostic testing across all operational shifts.
• Perform, evaluate, and correlate complex clinical testing across General Laboratory disciplines (Chemistry and Hematology), Blood Bank / Immunohematology, and Microbiology.
• Monitor, review, and document Quality Control (QC) programs, Proficiency Testing (PT), and Quality Assurance (QA) data to ensure diagnostic accuracy and precision.
• Troubleshoot complex technical malfunctions, investigate analytical deviations, and implement documented corrective action plans.
• Enforce strict adherence to laboratory safety standards, OSHA regulations, infection control policies, and state/federal regulatory requirements.
• Maintain efficient turnaround times and prioritize STAT and high-acuity testing workloads.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and competency evaluations for laboratory personnel.

Qualifications & Requirements

Licensure

• Current, active license as a General Supervisor issued by the State of Nevada (mandatory).

Technical Experience & Proficiency

• Proven, demonstrated expertise performing and reviewing moderate- and high-complexity testing across:
  • General Laboratory: Clinical Chemistry and Hematology
  • Blood Bank: Immunohematology, crossmatching, and blood component management
  • Microbiology: Specimen processing, culture evaluation, and identification
