Pay Rate

• Salary Range: $29.00 – $41.00/hr (based on years of experience)

• Shift Differentials: $2.00/hr for Evenings | $3.00/hr for Nights | $3.00/hr for Weekends

• Sign-On Bonus: None specified

• Relocation Assistance: $5,000

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science (or Bachelor’s degree with sub-specialty certification, or grandfathered as a Medical Technologist by CLIA ’88) required

• Active Medical Technologist ASCP, CLS (NCA), or categorical certification (BB, C, I, H, or M ASCP / equivalent) required

• Minimum 1+ years of recent Blood Bank experience in an acute care hospital lab setting required (non-acute care experience will not be considered)

• Demonstrated proficiency performing waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing under CLIA ’88 standards

• Strong analytical judgment for correlating abnormal results with pathologic states and troubleshooting unexpected test values

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytic procedures, including clerical data entry, specimen accessioning, collection, and laboratory processing

• Execute waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing across blood and body fluid specimens in strict compliance with CLIA ’88 regulations

• Manage post-analytic workflows, including result verification, timely reporting, investigation of discordant/unexpected results, and daily quality control (QC) monitoring

• Support Blood Bank operations with accurate compatibility testing, antibody screening, and component preparation

• Maintain, calibrate, and monitor non-analytic equipment (refrigerators, freezers, centrifuges) and ensure adequate inventory of reagents and supplies

• Assist in the onboarding, training, and competency mentoring of lab assistants, technician trainees, and new medical technologists

• Participate in departmental quality assurance, method evaluations, and regulatory compliance activities

• Facility Size: 190 Beds (Full-service acute care hospital, Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, Robotic Surgery Center of Excellence)

• Core Specialty Focus: General Laboratory & Dedicated Hospital Blood Bank

• Shift Flexibility: Offers standard full-time night rotation or a dedicated 4-day weekend block (Thursday – Sunday)
