Title: Medical Technician -Surgery, Level I, II, or III Position Summary: The Animal Rescue League of Berks County is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and team -oriented Surgery Technician to join our veterinary team. We are open to candidates at the Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 level based on experience, technical skills, and surgical support expertise. In this role, you will assist veterinarians with high -quality surgical care by preparing patients for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, supporting sterile surgical procedures, and providing post -operative care. Technicians at higher levels may independently perform advanced technical duties, mentor team members, assist with training, and take a lead role in surgical operations and patient care. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, committed to patient safety, and able to thrive in a fast -paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare surgical patients and equipment for procedures • Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia • Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures • Provide post -operative monitoring and care • Maintain accurate medical records • Support inventory, equipment maintenance, and surgical suite cleanliness • Collaborate with veterinary and shelter teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes Qualifications Vary by Level: Candidates may qualify for Level 1, 2, or 3 placement based on their education, credentials, technical abilities, experience with anesthesia and surgery, leadership skills, and demonstrated proficiency in veterinary nursing.
