Job Description

 

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential 0pportunity for a Remote Medical Support Assistant, supporting the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT.

Position Details:

 

  • 100% Remote - must live within 50 miles the communting area
  • Regular business hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • No Nights, Weekends, or Holidays
  • Benefits elitible position with 11 Paid Federal Holidays and PTO Avalable

 

 

Qualifications:

  • U.S. residency required.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Strong oral and written English skills; basic medical terminology preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to type at least 50 WPM and work with electronic medical records.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to resolve customer concerns accurately and timely.
  • No health restrictions that interfere with job duties.

 

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate patient care and scheduling with internal and community providers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate patient communication and appointment scheduling.
  • Validate and update patient demographic information.
  • Process medical records and integrate data into VA systems (CPRS, VistA).
  • Manage community care consults using VA systems (HSRM, PPMS).
  • Answer and respond to phone inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) daily.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and VA staff.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
