Job Description:

  • Directly manages all CVO or MSO staff as applicable, including workflow design, work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution.
  • Supervises credentialing staff for timely assessment of appointments, reappointments, credentialing, recredentialing, and delineation of clinical privileges.
  • Evaluates problem applications, provides guidance to staff and physician leaders, and informs the Director for resolution if necessary.
  • Assesses systems and develops improved processes while ensuring compliance with credentialing guidelines, state and federal statutes, standards, and regulations.
  • Trains and provides ongoing guidance on credentialing, standards, privileging, bylaws, rules, regulations, and customer service enhancement.
  • Oversees correspondence issued by support staff pertaining to medical staff credentialing matters and delegates tasks for committee meeting preparation and coordination.
  • Manages delegated credentialing verification services for AdventHealth Health Care System.
  • Develops departmental policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures related to credentialing operations and staff. Provides consultation to medical staff, allied health professionals, administration, and other hospital departments, addressing and facilitating issues and concerns.
  • Manages the granting of clinical privileges in accordance with medical staff policies, including temporary privileges for medical staff members and allied health professionals. Reports credentialing data, significant issues, process improvement, staffing performance, and planning to the Director.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology [Required]
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint [Required]
  • Knowledge of primary source verification processes and procedures [Required]
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission or NCQA regulations [Required]
  • Knowledge of any governing bodies such as policies, bylaws, or other compliance standards to serve as a stakeholder resource as appropriate to the office. [Required]
  • Current knowledge and experience in credentialing and re-credentialing medical staff members in an acute care hospital [Required]

Education:

  • Bachelor's [Required]

Field of Study:

  • in Business Administration, Management or Health-related field.

Work Experience:

  • 4+ in a healthcare setting [Required]
  • Experience in Medical Staff or Credentialing [Required]
  • 1+ year of leadership experience [Required]
  • Experience in leading organization change [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS [Required] OR Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM [Required]
