About the Role:
Pain and Disability Institute PC in Jersey City, NJ is looking for a dedicated and organized Medical Secretary to join our growing healthcare team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences while supporting our clinical staff in a fast-paced medical environment.



Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check in patients, managing front desk operations with professionalism and care
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments and follow-up visits
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, responding to patient inquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) and patient files accurately
  • Process insurance verifications, referrals, and prior authorizations
  • Handle medical billing support, co-pay collection, and patient account management
  • Prepare and manage correspondence, medical forms, and documentation for providers
Requirements:
  • Prior experience as a Medical Secretary, Medical Receptionist, or in a healthcare administrative role preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 codes, and insurance processes
  • Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume clinical setting
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; medical administrative certification a plus
