    Position at Danbury Hospital

    Title: Medical Secretary C - Anticoagulation Center - Danbury, CT- Part time - Monday-Friday 8:30am -12:30pm

    Summary:

    Provides clerical support and maintains an efficiently run department. Enters complete billing information on time for prompt reimbursement from insurance companies.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Enters patient demographic information into registration system, making sure all information is entered for billing purposes.
    2. Performs reception duties and forwards phone calls to the appropriate party.

    3. Answers phones by 4th ring using department greeting, records complete messages or sends task to appropriate person in a timely manner.

    4. Obtains medical records and labs on new patients. Updates information on registration system.

    5. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

    6. Schedules patient follow-up appointments and testing as ordered by providers at time of check-out.

    7. Performs orders reconciliation for tests, x-rays, etc. for patients as they come due.

    8. Demonstrates the ability to use office equipment.

    9. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

    10. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education Skills Experience:

    Required: Data entry and MS Word required.
    Minimum Experience: three years
    Desired: Knowledge of insurance and ICD9 coding
