Duration: 3 Months (Potential for extension) Pay Rate: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Location: On-site to start, with transition to remote work after initial onboarding/training period

Position Overview: We are seeking a Temporary Medical Scheduler with strong medical administration and insurance verification experience to join our team in Houston. In this role, you will coordinate complex patient appointments, process physician orders, and manage patient communications. This temporary assignment is scheduled for 3 months with a strong possibility of extension based on operational needs and performance. You will begin working on-site for initial training and transition to a remote work arrangement thereafter.  Key Responsibilities:
  • Appointment Coordination: Manage and schedule patient appointments across multiple physician and department calendars with high accuracy.
  • Order Processing: Review and process physician orders for diagnostic testing, procedures, and specialty consultations.
  • Insurance Verification: Handle insurance verification (V) and eligibility checks to ensure proper authorizations are obtained prior to visits.
  • Patient Communication: Conduct outbound calls to confirm appointments, provide clinical prep instructions, and gather necessary demographic or insurance details.
  • EHR Navigation: Utilize electronic health record and scheduling systems (experience with systems like Epic or Vine is a strong plus) to maintain clean patient records.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a medical scheduling, patient access, or hospital administrative role.
  • Skills: Proficiency with medical terminology, strong computer literacy, and exceptional phone etiquette.
  • Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with electronic network tools or insurance verification workflows (Vine experience preferred).
  • Work Arrangement: Ability to work on-site in Houston for the initial onboarding/training phase before transitioning to a remote schedule.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
