Medical Records Clerk and Self-Pay AR
Hours: 1st shift, 8am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri
Compensation: $18-$22 per hour
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare Hospital lists for accurate charge entry.
- Must have Accounts Receivable (AR) experience.
- Entering correct information in NSO system from new patients from the hospitals.
- Verifying patient insurance on new hospital patients.
- Checking for any authorizations in the hospital referrals for our visits.
- AR follow up with any self-pay patients for Medicaid or other insurance.
- Resend any claims with updates of insurance from self-pay status.
- Answer any phone calls about medical records requests and or auditor visits.
- Support the nephrology billing team with documentation, scanning, and maintaining patient insurance records.
- Returned Mail.
- Deceased patient report.
- Bad address report.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively with clinical staff, billing staff, front office staff and patients.
- Must be reliable.
- Excellent written, verbal and keyboard skills.
- Professionalism.
Working Conditions:
- Outpatient clinical office setting.
- Work location is in person.
- Frequent sitting, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Direct interaction with patients, families, providers, dialysis facilities and hospitals.
