Healthcare Opportunity – Medical Receptionist | Stony Brook Health
Our team is partnering with Stony Brook Health to hire an experienced Medical Receptionist for a temporary assignment with strong temp-to-hire potential.
Pay: Up to $24.72/hour, depending on experience

Important Eligibility Requirements:
• Must not have previously worked for Stony Brook Health
• Must not have applied with Stony Brook Health within the past year
Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome and assist patients during check-in and check-out
• Manage incoming calls and direct inquiries appropriately
• Verify insurance, demographics, and patient documentation
• Process patient payments and maintain accurate records
• Coordinate appointment scheduling, referrals, and authorizations
• Support efficient patient flow throughout the office
• Utilize EMR systems to maintain and update patient information
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional office standards
• Monitor and communicate office supply needs
• Assist with evening or weekend coverage when needed
What We’re Looking For:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of a Medical Office Administration program preferred
• OR at least 6 months of Medical Receptionist experience
• OR 1 year of clerical/administrative experience
• Microsoft Office and EMR familiarity
• Strong multitasking and communication abilities
• Professional demeanor and excellent phone etiquette
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
