Description

A medical receptionist plays a crucial role in the smooth functioning of a medical office or healthcare facility. Their responsibilities include:


  1. Patient Registration: Greeting patients and collecting their personal information for registration.
  2. Appointment Scheduling: Coordinating and scheduling patient appointments, managing the calendar for healthcare providers.
  3. Check-In and Check-Out Procedures: Assisting patients with the check-in process,  insurance information, and handling the check-out process after appointments.
  4. Answering Phone Calls: Handling incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, and providing information about the practice.
  5. Maintaining Patient Records: Ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient records, including personal information, medical history, and insurance details.
  6. Insurance Verification: Verifying insurance coverage and collaborating with billing company
  7. Handling Payments: Collecting co-pays, processing payments, and managing billing inquiries.
  8. Managing Front Desk Area: Keeping the reception area organized, tidy, and welcoming for patients.
  9. Communication: Communicating effectively with healthcare providers, staff, and patients to facilitate smooth operations.
  10. Patient Education: Providing basic information to patients about procedures, policies, and general healthcare information.
