The Glaucoma & Cataract Center of New Jersey is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist / Co-Surgical Coordinator to join our dedicated team in Livingston, NJ. Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check in patients, manage front desk operations, and maintain a welcoming office environment
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, follow-ups, and surgical procedures
  • Coordinate surgical scheduling with surgical center and surgical team
  • Obtain prior authorizations and insurance verifications for procedures and surgeries
  • Prepare and manage surgical paperwork, consent forms, and pre-op documentation
  • Answer multi-line phones, triage patient inquiries, and relay messages to clinical staff
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Communicate with referring physicians, facilities, and insurance carriers as needed
Requirements:
  • Prior experience as a medical receptionist or surgical coordinator preferred
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology or specialty medical practice is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical billing processes is necessary
  • Proficiency with EHR/EMR (Nextech) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Professional, compassionate demeanor with a patient-first attitude
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of WEAVE (patient communication and phone system) a plus
