Grand Canyon Universitys Health Clinic is growing!! Were seeking a Medical Receptionist to work in our Canyon Health Clinic, on the GCU campus. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff, entering all demographic information into the electronic health record, entering referrals for office visits into EMR, scanning for staff as needed, and working closely with clinic staff.
Please Note: This position is based on our Main Campus at 33rd Ave and Camelback in Phoenix.
This is a full time position and the hours can be M-F 8-5:30 or 4 10 hour shifts,
Responsibilities:
Answer incoming calls to respond to inquiries made by patients, vendors, and insurance companies. Responds to client voicemails.
Schedule patient appointments via telephone.
Obtains complete and accurate medical history, including medications.
Enter all patient data into electronic medical record
Screens and routes patient calls to other clinic employees
Ensures accurate registration, appointment scheduling and follow-up appointment scheduling in database.
Obtains patient demographic and verifying insurance information
Scanning pertinent patient information into EMR including patient authorizations, recent labs delivered by patient, etc.
Obtaining patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance).
Communicates information related to COVID-19 with quarantine isolation team
Answers general questions related to COVID 19
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
1 - 2 years of experience in customer service.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be approved by manager
Previous experience in a medical practice desired
Experience with Microsoft Programs preferred
Basic interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to apply knowledge of office procedures and carry out tasks accordingly
Ability to utilize the EMR system effectively
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
Must be flexible, organized, and function well under pressure
Provide a positive example to students by supporting the Universitys Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
