    Job Title: Medical Affairs Specialist, Health Systems & Payer
    Location: United States Remote (100%)
    Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m. in the candidate s local time zone (40 hours/week)
    Assignment Duration: 12-month contract assignment from start date, with potential extension based on business need

    Position Summary:
    The Medical Affairs Specialist, Health Systems & Payer is a contract role that provides scientific, clinical, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) content development, and operational analytics support to the North America Medical Affairs team.
    Reporting to and collaborating closely with the Manager, Medical Affairs, this individual will develop and maintain high-quality scientific and educational content for the HSPM team for engagement with national and regional payers, pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and government policy stakeholders.
    The role will also support the tracking, analysis, and reporting of HSPM activity, customer interactions, and team metrics for leadership visibility. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Account Management, and Government Affairs to ensure scientific materials, insights, and analytics are accurate, actionable, and compliant.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Scientific Content Development and Training Support
    • Collaborate with the Manager, Medical Affairs to support the development, maintenance, and delivery of training content for the HSPM team.
    • Develop, curate, review, edit, and update scientific, clinical, HEOR, and educational materials for HSPM use in payer and stakeholder engagements.
    • Create scientifically accurate, balanced, and appropriately referenced presentations, scientific communications, discussion guides, training resources, and other field-facing materials.
    • Support development of content that communicates clinical evidence, health economic information, medical value, and appropriate product/device information.
    • Serve as a scientific resource by supporting interpretation and review of materials and presentations used by the HSPM and Market Access teams.
    • Support HSPM presentations and discussions with national and regional payers, PBMs, IDNs, and government policy stakeholders.
    • Support payer advisory boards and other payer discussions by synthesizing scientific insights related to product/device development, expanded reimbursement, and communication of medical value.

    Dossier, Medical Information, and Evidence Support:
    • Support the development, review, maintenance, and updating of product dossiers, including clinical, scientific, economic, and value-based evidence.
    • Support development of budget-impact models and other economic or value-based contracting evaluation tools, as needed.
    • Develop, edit, and coordinate scientifically accurate medical-information response letters for payer inquiries and Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee requests.
    • Support the generation and dissemination of HEOR-related evidence in collaboration with the Market Access team.
    • Contribute to evidence-based publications and presentations using available data, customer insights, and approved materials.
    • Partner with Market Access to provide medical review of communications and support scientific interpretation of product features, benefits, clinical evidence, and medical value.

    Data Analytics, Metrics, and Reporting:
    • Collect, organize, analyze, and report HSPM field-interaction data, customer insights, activity metrics, and other operational information.
    • Create recurring reports, dashboards, presentations, and leadership summaries that communicate HSPM activity, stakeholder engagement, trends, key insights, and performance metrics.
    • Support the development and maintenance of processes for tracking HSPM interactions, training completion, material usage, customer insights, and other agreed-upon performance indicators.
    • Identify trends, data gaps, and opportunities to improve HSPM team effectiveness, training programs, field-facing content, and strategic engagement planning.
    • Partner with HSPM leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure reporting is timely, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration and Compliance:
    • Collaborate effectively with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Account Management, Government Affairs, Global Market Access, and other internal stakeholders.
    • Support appropriate review, approval, version control, and maintenance of scientific and payer-facing materials in accordance with established processes.
    • Ensure activities and materials comply with applicable corporate and divisional policies, procedures, and review requirements.
    • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Doctorate degree in a scientific, clinical, pharmacy, public health, health economics, data analytics, or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 1 2 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare, or a related life-sciences environment.
    • Experience supporting Medical Affairs, clinical affairs, scientific communications, medical education, market access, payer strategy, HEOR, or related functions.
    • Strong scientific and medical writing, editing, literature interpretation, and presentation-development skills.
    • Experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and communicating operational, customer-interaction, healthcare, clinical, or business data.
    • Strong presentation, written communication, organizational, and project-management skills.
    • Ability to translate complex scientific, clinical, health-economic, and data-driven information into clear, usable materials for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities while working effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience supporting payer-facing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, HEOR, reimbursement, or value-evidence initiatives.
    • Experience developing or maintaining product dossiers, medical-information responses, budget-impact materials, value assessments, payer presentations, or scientific communication materials.
    • Experience with dashboards, data visualization, reporting tools, CRM systems, or systems used to track customer interactions and field-team metrics.
    • Familiarity with Veeva Vault or comparable medical-content management, review, and approval systems.
    • Experience in diabetes, continuous glucose monitoring, medical devices, or chronic disease management.
