Description

Medical Assistant

Location: Greenwich, CT

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Pay: $20-$24/hour

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Northeast Medical Group is hiring a Medical Assistant to support a busy Pulmonary/Internal Medicine practice in Greenwich, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for a patient-focused healthcare professional who enjoys both clinical and administrative responsibilities and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient concerns
  • Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
  • Administer injections, vaccinations, and medications as directed and permitted
  • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
  • Prepare, clean, and stock examination rooms and clinical equipment
  • Maintain accurate patient records within Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate patient follow-up care
  • Verify insurance information and assist with referrals and prior authorizations
  • Communicate with patients regarding test results, treatment plans, and appointment reminders
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control standards, and clinical protocols
  • Support daily office operations and provide exceptional patient service

Qualifications

Required

  • Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or equivalent clinical experience
  • Previous experience in a medical office, physician practice, clinic, or healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures
  • Experience obtaining and recording patient vital signs
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Proficiency with computers, EMR/EHR systems, and data entry

Preferred

  • Experience supporting Pulmonary, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, or Specialty Practices
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent credential
  • Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations
  • Familiarity with Epic or other EMR systems
  • Bilingual skills are a plus

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
