Job Description

Additional Hospital Information & What We Are Looking For:

Reason for Opening: Current Medical Lead is Internally Transferring to our other local clinic on great terms. You would have support locally and regionally!

  • Interest In: Small-animal general practice in an AAHA-accredited, full-service veterinary hospital committed to practicing exceptional medicine with compassion and integrity. Clinical interests may include preventative care, wellness, internal medicine, diagnostics, dentistry, soft-tissue surgery, urgent care, pain management, behavioral medicine, nutrition counseling, and client education. The hospital is equipped to provide comprehensive care utilizing advanced diagnostics, digital imaging, surgery, and modern anesthetic and monitoring protocols.
  • Medical Lead / Experienced Veterinarian: We are seeking an experienced veterinarian to join our team as Medical Lead. This is a predominantly clinical leadership opportunity (80-90% practicing medicine) for a veterinarian who enjoys leading by example, fostering collaboration, and helping shape the medical direction of a well-established, AAHA-accredited practice. The ideal candidate is passionate about practicing progressive medicine while helping elevate clinical standards, supporting fellow veterinarians, and driving continued hospital success.
  • Supportive, Experienced Technical Staff: Practice alongside a knowledgeable and compassionate support team that is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Our technicians and support staff help maximize doctor efficiency through anesthesia monitoring, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery support, client communication, and patient advocacy, allowing you to focus on practicing high-quality medicine.
  • Layout & Facility Highlights: AAHA-accredited hospital featuring modern exam rooms, in-house laboratory equipment, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, surgical and dental suites, advanced monitoring equipment, and workflow designed to support efficient, high-quality medicine. The hospital continually invests in technology and continuing education to ensure both patients and team members receive the highest standard of care.
  • Collaborative Leadership Environment: As Medical Lead, you'll partner with hospital leadership to champion clinical excellence, support medical protocols, encourage collaboration among the veterinary team, and help guide the continued growth of an already respected practice. This is a leader-of-medicine role focused on clinical mentorship through example, quality medicine, and continuous improvement, not heavy administrative responsibilities.
  • Patient Mix: A diverse small-animal caseload primarily consisting of dogs and cats, providing a rewarding mix of wellness care, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, urgent care, and advanced diagnostics. The variety of cases allows experienced veterinarians to continue expanding their medical interests while practicing comprehensive medicine.

Medical Lead Role Snapshot

Clinical Responsibilities (80-90%)

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate veterinary care across wellness, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and urgent care services.
  • Independently manage routine, advanced, and chronic medical cases with confidence and strong clinical judgment.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through exceptional communication and individualized treatment planning.
  • Lead by example on the hospital floor, modeling outstanding medicine, teamwork, and patient advocacy.

Medical Lead / Leader of Medicine Responsibilities (10-20%)

  • Serve as the primary clinical leader and medical authority within the hospital.
  • Guide medical standards, protocols, and consistency in patient care.
  • Support fellow veterinarians through collaboration on medical cases and clinical decision-making.
  • Partner with hospital leadership on equipment, workflow improvements, and medical initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and progressive, evidence-based medicine.
