Job Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs routine laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating diseases. The MLT works under the supervision of a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Laboratory Manager and ensures accurate and timely test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform moderate complexity laboratory testing in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis
- Collect, process, and analyze patient specimens
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Record and verify test results accurately
- Follow quality control procedures and safety standards
- Maintain laboratory inventory and supplies
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals regarding test results
