Job Summary and Qualifications As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing moderate and high complexity testing. You will analyze, review, and report test results and quality control results, and ensure specimen integrity by adhering to laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.You will complete moderate and high complexity testing and follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining patient result recordsYou will correctly receive specimens, print labels, and enter and verify patient data without errorsYou will operate and troubleshoot test systemsYou will identify problems which may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test resultsYou will ensure that test selection and reference ranges are age-appropriateYou will ensure timely availability of laboratory resultsYou will perform quality control activities appropriate to each assay performed and respond appropriately to outlier resultsYou will participate in proficiency testing activities in each applicable technical areaWhat qualifications you will need:Experience2 years of generalist and blood bank experience in acute care setting preferredEducationBachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related fieldGraduation from a clinical rotation or internship from an accredited medical technology program OR, 50-week military training course or acceptable equivalent which results in eligibility to take registry exam in medical technology (Clinical Laboratory Science).Licenses and CertificationsRegistration as a Medical Technologist (MT) by American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency (NCA), or American Medical Technologists (AMT) OR, evidence of a passing registry exam score within 1 year of hireBenefits St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
