Immediate need for a talented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). This is a 13 Weeks Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Salmon, ID (Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: Weekly Gross Pay: $1,900.00 (subject to completion of scheduled hours)
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and moderate complexity testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, immunology, and transfusion services
  • Complete appropriate routing, handling, and processing of various medical specimens
  • Run daily QC, evaluate results, document corrective actions, and participate in proficiency testing
  • Operate, calibrate, and perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on laboratory analyzers
  • Review results for accuracy, identify abnormal or critical values, and follow established protocols
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to CLIA, COLA, and hospital safety standards
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary collections as assigned
  • Collect drug screens (DOT and non-DOT) and perform Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT)
  • Collect paternity tests with proper chain of custody
  • Perform EKGs
  • Answer phones and questions from callers, doctors, and hospital staff

  • Shift: Days – 10hr shifts, 40 hours/week
  • Expected Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field required
  • National registered Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) required
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience required – must be able to work independently
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Active Idaho state license required (must be currently active)
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • Must be available to work 2–3 nights/days a week on call for emergency lab services on a routine basis
  • Must be available on call 3–4 days/nights a week to accommodate coworker illness, crisis, or vacations
  • Must be able to return to work within 15 minutes when on call
  • Holiday coverage required
