This position is responsible for daily oversight of the many technically complex and diverse activities performed by the Virology and Serology sections of the Rollins Laboratory. Responsibilities include leading day-to-day lab operations while maintaining technical proficiency to step in as needed, providing consultation to veterinary practitioners and producers, as well as state and federal partners; developing and implementing policies and procedures; supervision and management of laboratory section operations; coordinating all personnel functions; developing new services; and oversight of the quality control and accreditation standards.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in medical technology, chemistry, or a biological science from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in a laboratory in the assigned area, one of which is in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Qualifications: Must be capable of meeting the Federal CLIA'88 personnel requirements for a general supervisor in a laboratory performing high complexity testing.
