Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client's healthcare facility in  Irving TX 75063
 
Job Details: 
Schedule: 3pm- 11:30pm, Tues - Sat 

Location:  Irving TX 75063
Job Type: Local contract

Contract Length: 4 months contract to possible extension 
Pay Range:
$38.00 to $40.00/hour*

*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.  
 
Duties: 
  • Follow laboratory SOPs for specimen handling, processing, testing, result reporting, and record maintenance.
  • Perform specimen analysis using approved testing procedures and release accurate test results.
  • Maintain proficiency testing, quality control, calibration, maintenance, and corrective action records.
  • Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, laboratory safety, and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve testing issues or promptly notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
  • Report STAT and critical results according to established department procedures.
  • Maintain complete testing records, reagent and test kit inventory, expiration dates, and department cleanliness.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers and laboratory personnel as needed.
  • Review and train on new procedures; attend department meetings, educational sessions, and safety training.
  • Support regulatory inspections and perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor.
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong understanding of basic laboratory testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), and laboratory operations.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and ability to adapt to multiple laboratory software platforms.
  •  
Requirements: 
  • BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493. 1433 published in March 14, 1990. Foreign educated candidates must provide a detailed credential evaluation from IERF (International Education Research Foundation). United States educated candidates must provide a detailed original transcript. A successful candidate should possess or be eligible for national certification as an MT / MLT from a recognized organization (ASCP or AMT).
  • Chemistry experience preferred.
