Essential Functions
- Verifies routine results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability using prescribed guidelines.
- Performs, evaluates, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
- Receives guidance and direction from more experienced team members or lead.
- Maintains current Florida license as a Medical Technologist in the specialty or specialties required by the laboratory section(s)
- assigned.
- National Certification such as American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), or
- American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred.er.
- Demonstrates computer system proficiency including ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions.
- Ensures proper utilization and preparation of reagents and supplies.
- Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver. Regularly reports all unusual findings to the immediate supervisor.
- Regularly reports work activities and pending work to the oncoming technologist.
- Responds to work related technical inquiries as needed.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health policies and procedures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
