Pride Health is hiring a Medical Lab Technician II to support our client’s medical facility in Fairhope, AL. This is a great opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional with Generalist and Blood Bank experience looking to work in a clinical laboratory environment. Pay Rate: $25–$28/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Weekends: Rotating weekends
Education: Associate Degree
Experience: 2–4 years of clinical laboratory experience
Specialty: Generalist with Blood Bank experience
Job Responsibilities
- Determine the acceptability of specimens according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing according to departmental SOPs.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
- Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Maintain and replenish laboratory testing supplies.
- Assist with specimen processing as needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow appropriate PPE requirements.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a degree meeting applicable CLIA/state requirements.
- 2–4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
- Generalist laboratory experience with Blood Bank experience.
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred/required based on applicable requirements.
- State Medical Technician license may be required.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Computer proficiency; experience with laboratory information systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass a standardized color vision screening.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs.
