Description

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Lab Technician II to support our client’s medical facility in Clanton, AL 35045. We are looking for a qualified laboratory professional with Generalist and Blood Bank experience to join the team.

Location: Clanton, AL 35045
Pay Rate: $20–$25/hour
Schedule: Wednesday–Tuesday
Position: Medical Lab Technician II
Specialty: Generalist with Blood Bank experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory testing according to established procedures and SOPs.
  • Determine specimen acceptability and ensure proper specimen handling.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
  • Perform testing accurately and efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
  • Perform Blood Bank procedures and related laboratory testing.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and quality controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results.
  • Perform and document quality control and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Assist with specimen processing as needed.
  • Maintain adequate supplies at the testing bench.
  • Follow all laboratory safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field meeting applicable CLIA/state requirements.
  • Clinical laboratory testing experience.
  • Generalist experience with Blood Bank experience required.
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred/required based on applicable requirements.
  • State Medical Technician license may be required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make technical decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screening.
  • Flexibility to work the assigned Wednesday–Tuesday schedule and additional hours as needed.
