Job Details:
Schedule: 3rd Shift 10pm-630am or 8pm-6am
Location: Nashville TN 37236
Job Type: Local contract Contract Length: 6 months contract to Perm Hire
Pay Range: $40/hr- $44 hour*
Duties: - Perform clinical laboratory testing according to established procedures and department SOPs.
- Handle, process, analyze, and report patient specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Review and release test results while following STAT and critical result reporting procedures.
- Perform and document Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), calibrations, and instrument maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records for testing, proficiency testing, QC, maintenance, and corrective actions.
- Identify testing/reporting issues and take appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure reagents and test kits are properly labeled and within required expiration/opening dates.
- Maintain laboratory organization, safety standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in training, department meetings, inspections, and continuing education.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, clients, and other departments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all laboratory safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology preferred; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biology; OR
- Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; OR
- Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433.
Experience & Certification
- 1+ year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology candidates require at least 1 year of high-complexity clinical laboratory experience.
- National/state licensure required where applicable.
- Required professional certification/licensure must be maintained as applicable.
- Foreign-educated candidates must provide a detailed credential evaluation.
