US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Temporary Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Cardiology Center of Houston in Katy, TX
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner.
- May perform patient check-in and/or check-out duties, including verifying insurance and updating demographic information.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments efficiently to optimize provider schedules.
- Answer phones promptly and route calls appropriately.
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances, post payments accurately in the system.
- Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and referrals as required.
- Communicate effectively with medical assistants, technicians, and providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and filing documents.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of medical office or front desk experience (cardiology or specialty office preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and referral processes.
- Proficient in eClinicalWorks preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, professionalism, and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
