Description

Nuvance Health, an affiliate of Vassar Brothers Medical Center, located just 75 minutes north of New York City is seeking a board certified Physician for the Palliative Care Program to serve as the Medical Director to advance and expand the current program. The palliative care team consists of expert physicians, advanced practice nurses, social workers, and chaplains.

Work across the continuity of care in an in-patient setting with the opportunity to expand across the community and will require working in both an in-patient program and outpatient programs and outreach to extended facilities and Primary Care settings.

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a palliative care service setting preferred.
  • Have successfully completed an Internal Medicine Residency and a Fellowship in Palliative care
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Palliative Care
  • Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine BLS & ACLS preferred

Located on the banks of the scenic Hudson River, Vassar Brothers Medical Center has a brand new 696,000-square-foot, eight-level inpatient pavilion with 264 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms. Vassar provides the leading acute and critical emergency care in the region, recently adding Level II Trauma Service and Interventional Neuroradiology. Vassar has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, cancer care and women and childrens health services. Vassar is consistently ranked as one of the strongest cardiac programs in the United States and one of the Top 100 Heart Hospitals by Modern HealthCare Magazine.

VBMC is also now part of Nuvance Health.
