    Medical Director / Managing Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (MDVM)

    We are seeking an experienced Medical Director / MDVM to lead a thriving small animal general practice. This role is ideal for a veterinarian ready to step into leadership while continuing to practice high-quality, patient-focused medicine in a collaborative and supportive environment.

    Role Overview

    The Medical Director provides clinical leadership while fostering a positive, team-oriented culture. In partnership with hospital and operational leadership, you will guide associate veterinarians, support staff development, and ensure medical excellence, regulatory compliance, and sustainable practice growth.

    What You'll Do

    • Mentor and support veterinarians in clinical, professional, and administrative growth
    • Lead team development through coaching, reviews, and regular meetings
    • Develop, implement, and monitor medical and compliance protocols
    • Collaborate on annual planning, operational strategy, and practice growth
    • Promote a culture of teamwork, high medical standards, and client satisfaction

    Qualifications

    • DVM/VMD or equivalent from an accredited program

    • Active veterinary license in good standing

    • 5+ years of clinical experience preferred

    • Prior leadership or management experience strongly preferred

    • Strong emotional intelligence and people-management skills

    • Commitment to ethical, gold-standard veterinary medicine

    • Excellent communication and delegation abilities
