Position Overview
Serve patients in moments that matter and help lead the future of emergency care. SCP Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Medical Director to lead the Emergency Department at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Indiana. This role blends clinical excellence with physician leadership, offering the opportunity to shape operations, quality, and culture in a mission-driven, community-focused hospital.
As Medical Director, you will provide on-site clinical care while partnering with hospital administration and SCP Health leadership to drive performance, physician engagement, and high-quality patient outcomes.
Patient Volume: ~18,000 annual ED visits
Specialties: Emergency Medicine
Coverage Model:24-hour physician coverage, 10 hours/day APP coverage
Number of Beds: Emergency Department (acute care hospital)
Acuity: Consistent community ED acuity with efficient patient flow
EMR: Cerner
Procedures: Full-scope Emergency Medicine procedures
ICU: Access to inpatient and specialty support via Norton Healthcare partnership
Admissions/Transfers: Supported referral and transfer pathways through Norton Healthcare
Fellowship/Residency: Emergency Medicine residency required
Moonlighting: As approved per site and SCP Health policy
ICP Site: No
Qualifications
Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Licensure: Active Indiana medical license (or ability to obtain)
Board Certification: ABEM or AOBEM (Board Eligible considered)
Emergency Medicine clinical experience required
Emergency Medical Director or ED leadership experience required
Skills & Procedures: Strong clinical skills, operational oversight, quality improvement, physician leadership
Badges: ACLS, BLS, PALS (as required)
