Medical Director - Anesthesiology Physician - Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital

Overview:

Sentara Anesthesiology Specialists is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist with strong proficiency in regional blocks and is comfortable with caring for pediatric patients, to serve as Medical Director at Virginia Beach Ambulatory Surgery Center (VBASC). This opportunity is ideal for an experienced physician leader. In addition to supervising CRNAs, the Medical Director will need to be a highly effective communicator- one that is comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization and able to successfully partner with facility leadership and ancillary departments.

The Medical Director will provide clinical and operational leadership for the anesthesia program while continuing an active clinical practice. This role will be a 90% clinical and 10% administrative split.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in regional anesthesia with proficiency in regional blocks required
• Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
• Passion for quality improvement, patient safety, and team development

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $388,024.00 - $623,916.80 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
