Description

We are seeking a Catheter Development Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and commercialization of advanced catheter-based medical devices. This position offers the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions for complex clinical needs.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead catheter design and development activities from concept generation through commercialization.
  • Create engineering drawings, 3D models, and detailed documentation using SolidWorks.
  • Develop and execute design verification and validation protocols.
  • Design and perform experiments using DOE methodologies and statistical analysis tools.
  • Support prototype builds, bench testing, and product characterization activities.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing teams throughout development programs.
  • Drive process development and technology transfer activities into manufacturing.
  • Work closely with external suppliers and development partners to support product and process improvements.
  • Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements

Profile

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of medical device product development experience.
  • 3+ years of catheter development experience.
  • Strong understanding of catheter manufacturing processes including extrusion, reflow, UV bonding, solvent bonding, tipping, and swaging.
  • Experience with materials such as Pebax, PTFE, FEP, PEEK, Nitinol, and stainless steel.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks.
  • Experience in cardiovascular or interventional medical devices preferred.
