We are seeking a Catheter Development Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and commercialization of advanced catheter-based medical devices. Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead catheter design and development activities from concept generation through commercialization.
- Create engineering drawings, 3D models, and detailed documentation using SolidWorks.
- Develop and execute design verification and validation protocols.
- Design and perform experiments using DOE methodologies and statistical analysis tools.
- Support prototype builds, bench testing, and product characterization activities.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing teams throughout development programs.
- Drive process development and technology transfer activities into manufacturing.
- Work closely with external suppliers and development partners to support product and process improvements.
- Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements
Profile
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of medical device product development experience.
- 3+ years of catheter development experience.
- Strong understanding of catheter manufacturing processes including extrusion, reflow, UV bonding, solvent bonding, tipping, and swaging.
- Experience with materials such as Pebax, PTFE, FEP, PEEK, Nitinol, and stainless steel.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Experience in cardiovascular or interventional medical devices preferred.
