About the Role:Orange County Ophthalmology is looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Medical Customer Service representative to join our growing team in Garden Grove, CA. Responsibilities:- Greet and assist patients in person, by phone, and via electronic communication in a professional and compassionate manner
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using medical scheduling software
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and process authorizations for ophthalmology services
- Collect and accurately enter patient demographic and medical information into the EHR system
- Handle patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints with empathy and efficiency
- Process co-pays, billing inquiries, and coordinate with the billing department as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times
Requirements:- 1+ years of customer service experience in a medical or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with ophthalmology, optometry, or specialty medical office procedures is a plus
- Knowledge of medical insurance verification, authorizations, and billing processes
- Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and general computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy clinic environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
