Responsible for the safe, secure, and timely transportation of medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, blood products, medical supplies, equipment, documents, and other healthcare-related materials between Methodist Healthcare System facilities and approved external locations. Ensures chain-of-custody requirements are maintained, delivery schedules are met, and customer service standards are consistently upheld while supporting patient care operations across the health care system.

Knowledge of Medical Courier Operations
Demonstrates knowledge of medical courier and delivery practices, including specimen transport, chain-of-custody requirements, delivery tracking systems, and customer service standards. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers, scanning equipment, communication devices, and other tools necessary to support healthcare logistics operations.

Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read and interpret names, addresses, medical documentation, route information, and tracking numbers accurately.
Six months of experience in courier services, delivery operations, transportation, healthcare logistics, supply chain operations, or a related field preferred. Basic computer skills and experience utilizing scanning, tracking, dispatch, or mobile communication systems are preferred.
Minimum License and Certificates Required: Valid Driver’s License Required
Equipment Utilized:
PC, iPhone, Microsoft Office applications, courier dispatch and routing software, delivery tracking and scanning applications, GPS/navigation systems, fleet vehicles, printers, scanners, and common office equipment.
