    SUMMARY

    Apersoninthisposition is a Licensed Practical Nurse and functionsundertheworkingtitleof Medical Compliance Specialist. Assignments are technical in nature and are performed under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. 

    ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES

    • Administersmedicationinaccordancewiththephysician'sorders,underthesupervisionofthe Director of Nursing.
    • Providesdirectcaretoresidentsbyutilizingstandardnursingtechniquesandfollowingcareplans.
    • Observes,interprets,records,andreportsthosesigns,symptomsandprocesseswhichindicatethe residents' responses to actual or potential health problems.
    • Provideshealthpromotionandmaintenancethroughteaching,guidance,andcounselingtheresidents, families, and other members of staff.
    • Participatesinformalstaffdevelopmentprogramandcontinuingeducationprogramtoenhance professional competence.
    • Identifiesactualandpotentialsafetyhazardswithintheassignedcareareaandtakesappropriate action to eliminate them

    OTHERDUTIES

    • Participatesasassignedoncommitteesforqualityimprovementandrelatedactivities.
    • Monitorsmedicalregimensareappropriatelyimplementedwithinprescribedwrittenorders.
    • Observes,records,andreportstheeffectsofpharmacologicalagentsandtherapeutictreatments.
    • Preparesandsubmitsrecordsandreports asassignedbyDirectorofNursingorotherprogram managerial staff.

    SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES

    • TherearenosupervisoryresponsibilitiesassociatedwiththeMedicalComplianceSpecialistposition; however, this person may serve as a coach and mentor for similar positions.

    PHYSICALDEMANDS

    • Thedutiesofthisjobrequirefinemotorskillstowriteneat,legiblenotes,readandunderstand program documentation, and completing keyboarding entry.

    TRAVEL

    • This position requires travel between various residential and office locations.A person in this positionmayberequiredtooperatecompanyvehiclestotransportindividualsonoutingsand/orto and from medical appointments.

    REQUIREDEDUCATIONAND/OREXPERIENCE

    • CompletionofaStateapprovedLicensedPracticalNursingcourseandpossessionofacurrentlicense to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners.
    • KnowledgeofthetheoriesandpracticeofLicensedPractical Nursing.
    • Skillinapplyingbasicnursingpracticesand methodology.
    • Abilitytoobserve,record,andreportsignsandsymptomsofresidents'actualorpotentialhealth status.
    • Abilitytodevelopandmaintaineffectiveworkingrelationshipswithotheremployees.
    • Abilitytomaintainrecordsandprepare reports.
    • Abilitytoestablishandmaintaineffectivecommunicationswithresidents,families,andother members of the health care system.
    • Abilitytounderstandandfolloworalandwritteninstructions.

    PREFERREDEDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE

    • Experienceworkingwithindividualswithintellectualdisabilitiesispreferred.

    • LanguageSkills
      • Abilitytoread,analyze, and interpret complex documents and instructions.
