Medical Coder

We are seeking an experienced Certified Professional Coder (CPC) to review medical documentation and accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes. This position will work closely with billing and healthcare teams to ensure coding is accurate, compliant, and properly supported by documentation.

– Must-Have Requirements

• 
  5+ years of medical coding experience
  
• 
  Current AAPC/CPC certification required
  
• 
  Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS
  
• 
  Understanding of LCDs and NCDs
  
• 
  Experience reviewing documentation and assigning appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
  
• 
  E/M and surgical coding experience highly preferred
  
• 
  Strong typing and 10-key accuracy
  
• 
  Excellent attention to detail

– Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• 
  Review medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes
  
• 
  Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
  
• 
  Review documentation for coding accuracy and completeness
  
• 
  Apply LCDs, NCDs, and applicable coding guidelines
  
• 
  Perform coding audits and identify errors or missing information
  
• 
  Assist with coding-related billing questions and insurance disputes
  
• 
  Communicate with providers regarding documentation and coding questions
  
• 
  Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  

– Additional Qualifications

• 
  Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding guidelines
  
• 
  E/M and surgical coding experience preferred
  
• 
  Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  
• 
  Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity
