We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support our revenue cycle operations. Position Summary:
The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of medical billing, including claim submission, payment posting, and follow-up on outstanding claims. The ideal candidate has experience with OB/GYN billing, understands payer guidelines, and can work independently while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Submit accurate and timely insurance claims (electronic and paper)
- Review and resolve claim rejections and denials
- Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or underpaid claims
- Post payments, adjustments, and patient payments
- Verify patient insurance and benefits as needed
- Work accounts receivable reports and aging
- Communicate with patients regarding billing questions and balances
- Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations (CPT, ICD-10)
- Collaborate with clinical and front office staff to resolve billing issues
Qualifications: - 2+ years of medical billing experience (OB/GYN preferred)
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and insurance guidelines
- Experience with EHR/PM systems (eClinicalWorks, Athena, or similar preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in women’s health or specialty practice billing
- Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or similar certification (a plus)
