What You’ll Do as a Medical Billing Specialist:- Review patient account balances for accuracy and completeness
- Submit claims promptly through appropriate billing channels
- Identify issues from explanations of benefits (EOBs) and denials
- Verify insurance payments for accuracy and contract compliance
- Contact insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies
- Identify and bill primary and secondary insurances
- Respond to insurance-related phone inquiries
- Conduct status checks with insurance companies and determine appeal eligibility
- Document all account activities thoroughly
- Complete assigned work queues and tasks daily
- Communicate trends or issues to leadership
What You Need to Bring to the Medical Billing Specialist Role:- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in clearinghouse or denial management, with billing background
- Ability to interpret business publications, regulations, and technical procedures
- Strong math skills including discounts, percentages, and proportions
- Knowledge of database software
- Reliable technology and remote-work readiness (quiet workspace, stable internet)
