Medical Biller Coder
Medical Billing AR and Charge Entry
Hours: 1st shift, 8am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri
Compensation: $18-$22 per hour
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare Hospital lists for accurate charge entry.
- Entering Charge entry from Hospitals, Dialysis Units and Office visits with accurate ICD10 combinations and CPT codes.
- Query provider if there are any inaccuracies.
- Charge Entry/Documentation viewing for any missed charges on visits by any provider.
- Monitor documentation by provider on the patient visits information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- AR follow up with any rejected, held or failed claims within clearinghouse.
- AR follow up with any claims that have been denied, rejected or held by payers.
- Answer any patient phone calls about accounts that you receive.
- Support the nephrology billing team with documentation, scanning, and maintaining patient insurance records.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification: CPC or equivalent certification preferred but not always required.
- Experience: Previous experience in an office setting preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively with clinical staff, billing staff, front office staff and patients.
- Reliability.
- Excellent written, verbal and keyboard skills.
- Professionalism.
