    Job Summary:

    St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for our Rehab department located within the Florence Sports Medicine.

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative operations within our outpatient practice. In this role, you will provide direct patient care by preparing patients for examinations, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, assisting providers during treatments and procedures, documenting clinical information, and educating patients as directed. You will also play a key role in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical records management to ensure a seamless patient experience.

    The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, effectively manage patient communications, coordinate scheduling and referrals, maintain accurate electronic medical records, and support day-to-day clinic operations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining exam room supplies and cleanliness, handling incoming calls and messages, collecting applicable patient payments, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient-centered care.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Education, Credentials, Licenses:

    • H.S. Diploma/GED

    • Accredited Medical Assistant Certification or Credential for the state where work is performed

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired during orientation.

    Specialized Knowledge:

    • Medical terminology

    • Computer fluency/literacy

    • Communication skills (verbal and written)

    • Maintain patient confidentiality

    • Organization and prioritization skills

    Kind and Length of Experience:

    • Experience as a Medical Assistant

    • AND

    • A minimum of 1 year experience working in a medical setting

    DESIRABLE

    • Associates Degree or equivalent

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook

    • Experience with electronic medical records software, ie. EPIC
