Bachelor's degree or higher (master's preferred)
Nationally credentialed Medical Assistant
1 year experience teaching in an MA program
3 years of clinical MA experience in a healthcare facility
1 month of MA experience in ambulatory setting

Job Details

This is a permanent full-time position for a Program Director of Medical Assisting Certification Program.

Schedule: M-F, 40-hours per week
Hours: 9a-5p (mix of hybrid, in-person, some remotely)
Location: Dublin, OH
Salary: Pay negotiable (based on candidates credentials, academic experience, practice experience, and degree)

Your performance responsibilities:

Lead the MA program's launch, including curriculum, lab setup, scheduling, and practicum partnerships
Teach and mentor students on both the clinical and administrative skill tracks
Build the program toward programmatic accreditation, and own retention, credentialing, and placement outcomes
Develop externship sites across Columbus's healthcare systems
Hire faculty and lead the MA Certificate program for a new campus.

What were looking for:

Current or former Medical Assisting Program Director, Program Chair, Program Coordinator, Lead Instructor, or Medical Assisting Faculty.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA, AMT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA, NHA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA).
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree (MSEd, MHA, MBA, or MS) preferred.
Experience with MAERB, CAAHEP, or ABHES accreditation, self-studies, and site visits.
Clinical skills in phlebotomy, EKG, injections, vital signs, and point-of-care testing.
Experience with administrative medical office skills: EHR, medical billing and coding, scheduling, HIPAA.
Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, competency assessment, and an LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle).
Has managed externship sites, clinical partnerships, and student placement.
Has improved program outcomes: retention, certification pass rates, and job placement.
Career college, proprietary school, or community college teaching background
Open to relocating to Columbus, OH.
