Responsibilities include both clinical and administrative duties that contribute to quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.The Medical Assistant will:Prepare patient documentation and medical records before appointmentsEscort patient to room, obtains vitals and updates medical record, which would include a brief medical history or chief complaint, current medication, allergies, smoking status, pain status, immunization status, and all meaningful use data collection.Prepare patients for examinations and proceduresVerify and document procedure consentsAssist providers during examinations and proceduresAdminister medications as ordered and accurately document treatmentAssist with diagnostic procedures and treatmentsSupport patient and family educationAdhere to infection control and patient safety standardsComplete prior authorizations and pre-certificationsProcess patient forms, including FMLA, short-term disability, and long-term disability paperworkManage medication refill requests according to established protocolsHandle and triage phone calls under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professionalMaintain accurate electronic medical recordsOrder and maintain clinical suppliesClean and stock exam roomsParticipate in quality improvement activities and department initiativesJob Requirements:Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) at the time of hireCPR certification within three months of hireStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to provide compassionate, patient-centered careExperience in Family Practice preferred with experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Two years of clinical experience preferredApply today and become part of a team dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our community.
